The life of a soldier is fostered by DRILL which cultivates Discipline from the letter ‘D’, Regimentation from ‘R’, Integrity from ‘I’, Loyalty and Leadership from the two Ls.
With the aim of producing professionally qualified Drill Instructors to the Sri Lanka Army, the professional Drill Instructor Course No 131 with fifty-two SNCOs, representing most of the Regiments of the Sri Lanka Army began their training on 5 Feb 2024 with the formal Opening Address by the Commandant at the Sino-Lanka Friendship Auditorium with the participation of the Deputy Commandant, Wing Heads, Officers and DI Course Instructors.
The Commandant during his speech underscored that Drill Instructors set the backbone of the future of the Army by playing an effective role to enhance the Army’s Core Values and traditions. Also, the Commandant emphasized how the DI Course creates career opportunities and progression. Finally, the trainee SNCOs were advised to follow the well-coordinated course curriculums with determination and confidence to make their ambition of becoming professional Drill Instructors, a reality.
