The Oath Ceremony is a remarkable and customary moment of officer cadet life as they give the oath before the National Flag, Academy Flag and Company Flags after completing their initial military orientation package. The event also implies that trainees’ promise to abide by the Country’s constitution against any enemy threats, disasters while respecting the law and order of the country, SOPs, traditions, customs and practices of the Military Academy as well as the Army.
On 29 January 2024, 238 Officer Cadets of Intake 93B, Intake SC 21 and Intake DE 1/2024 read their Oath of Loyalty and Devotion during their Oath ceremony, held at the Academy Gymnasium, and the event was graced by the Commanding Officer of the Officer Cadet Wing, Colonel AMDB Adhikari RWP RSP psc along with Company Commanders, Adjutant of the Officer Cadet Wing and Course Officers.
From this time onwards, these cadets will get the privilege of wearing white epaulettes on their shoulders. According to military tradition of the Academy, which is the symbol of their orientation to the challenging military lifestyle and worthiness to be a member of SLMA.
