INTAKE 93B, SC 21, SC 22 AND DE 1/2024 ON BOARD FOR A CHALLENGING TRAINING EXPERIENCE

On 8 January 2024, Intake 93B, SC 21, SC 22, and DE 1/2024, comprising of 236 local trainees and 3 Zambian Lady Officer Cadets, officially commenced their military training. The Commandant's Opening Address took place at the Sino-Lanka Friendship Auditorium, with the participation of the Deputy Commandant, all Wing Heads, Officers, and Other Rank Instructors of the Academy.

Addressing the Officer Cadets at the beginning of their demanding military training, Major General MTI Mahalekam WWV RWP RSP USP ndu psc, the Commandant, congratulated them on their selection to the Sri Lanka Army. He also commended their parents for allowing them to join the Army. During his speech, he emphasized the primary purpose of officer cadet training, the challenging nature of strenuous military training, the importance of maintaining the right attitude, preparedness to overcome complexities, the need to pursue training without third-party involvement, and adherence to the Standing Order Procedures (SOPs) and Academy tradition and culture. In conclusion, he extended his blessings for the successful completion of their training.

Following the Commandant's speech, all Wing Heads provided education to the trainees on the key roles played by each Wing, unfolding the upcoming military and academic curriculums in their training course, and orientating them to the military training environment of the SLMA.
