VISIT OF SCC 9 TO THE SLMA

The twenty nine student officers of the Senior Command Course 9 (SCC9) including six Directing Staff (DSs), Senior Instructor (SI), Chief Instructor (CI) and Deputy Commandant (Dy Comdt) from the Army War College, Buttala (AWC) destinated at the Sri Lanka Military Academy (SLMA) on 27 October 2023 for an educational endeavour to acquire knowledge and experience on varied types of ‘DRILLS’ practiced in the Army as a part of their course curriculum conducted by AWC, Buttala.

Once they arrived at the SLMA, they were officially welcomed by the Deputy Commandant of the Military Academy, Brigadier RRMPNB Bambaradeniya RWP RSP USP psc at Sino Lanka Friendship Auditorium where the delegation was made aware of the main purpose and objectives of their visit, while the SLMA documentary video was played to refresh their minds on the excellent service discharged by the Military Academy, Diyatalawa. Afterwards, the student officers of the course were given with the required theoretic and practical knowledge with demonstrations on Ceremonial Drills, Guard Turnout, Guard of Honour, Military Funeral Drills displayed by the Drill Instructors and present DI course students at different locations of the Military Academy and Fox Hill.

Finally, the special awareness programme reached its culmination successfully with an interactive session arranged at Officers’ Mess with SLMA officers to strengthen the close bondage between the both institutions.
