The Study Tour organized for trainee officer cadets at SLMA to witness the former operational areas, regiments, Security Forces Headquarters, training academies of sister services provides them with a lifetime opportunity in their military career. 66 Officer Cadets of Intake 92 including 8 Foreign Officer Cadets from Intake 92B too joined in the study tour scheduled from 18 to 22 September 23.
On 18 September 23, Officer Cadets visited Regimental Centre of MIR, Dambulla and then the Naval and Maritime Academy (NMA), Trincomalee. The second day of their study tour (19 Sep) took them to the Sri Lanka Air Force Academy (AFA) at China Bay and then to the 4 SLAC, Trincomalee. On 20 September 23, they reached at the Headquarters- Security Forces, Mullaitivu and afterwards, they were able to see LTTE Submarine Yard and War Monument located in Mullaitivu before touring to the 68 Infantry Division. On 21 Sep 23, the prominent destinations of their excursion were Sakkotei – PPD, Jaffna Fort, General Denzil Kobbekuduwa War Memorial, Jaffna Public Library and Dambakolapatuna. The Officer Cadets reached their last destinations of the study tour; EPS- Monument and Sangupiddi Bridge on 22 Sep 23.
Importantly, the Officer Cadets extended their heartiest gratitude and thanks to all senior officers, officers, NCOs for making their study tour successful with presentation of token of appreciation at each establishment.
