THE SECOND BOM CONFERENCE AT THE SLMA

In general, Board of Management (BOM) is periodically conducted at Sri Lanka Military Academy (SLMA) with the participation of key stakeholders of the Sri Lanka Army and the Academy to scrutinize the SLMA administrative and training mechanism in accordance with the stipulated Army procedures and regulations to achieve its objectives effectively.

On 22 of September 2023, the second consecutive conference of BOM chaired by the Chief of Staff, Major General W A S S Wanasinghe RSP VSV USP ndu was held at the SLMA with the participation of Director General General Staff, Commandant -SLMA, Director Training, Director Budget & Financial Management, Director Personnel Administration, Director Research Concept and Doctrine and Commanding Officer of Officer Cadet Wing - SLMA. On the arrival of Chief of Staff to the Military Academy, a Guard Turnout was accorded to him at the main entrance and also floral tributes were paid in honour of the fallen warriors at the War Memorial.

Then, the BOM conference commenced and matters related to General, Administrative and Logistic disciplines were broadly discussed to come across the best possible and viable solutions to collectively overcome all their challenges. After the BOM conference, a group photograph with all the members of the BOM was taken at the Lobby of the first floor of the Headquarters Complex. Then, the members of the BOM strolled through the camp premises to see the recent developments undergone by the Academy over time.

After a successful conference, a special lunch was hosted for the distinguished guests by the Commandant and staff of the Academy at the Officers’ Mess where exchange of mementoes in compliment of the success of the second consecutive conference was shared and their departure from the SLMA was marked at the end of a fruitful BOM conference.
