The ‘Oath Ceremony’ is a significant traditional event held at Military Academy, Diyatalawa to swear to protect the Constitution of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka against any threat while respecting the law and order of the country, SOPs, military traditions and practices before the National Flag, Academy Flag and Company Flags. With this pledge, the officer cadets are privileged to wear white epaulettes on their shoulders as members of the Alma Mater (SLMA).
On 15th August 2023, 10 Officer Cadets of the Intake DE 1/2023 had their Oath Ceremony at the Lieutenant Thilak Nissanka Memorial Indoor Gymnasium with the participation of the Commanding Officer - OCW, Colonel E W R S B Ehelepola USP USACGSC as the Chief Guest and Company Commanders, Course Officers, Other Rank Instructors and Officer Cadets were also present to witness the event.
