The Opening Address of the Commandant marks traditionally the initiation of officer cadet training at SLMA. In accordance with this tradition, on 07th August 2023, the Opening Address of Intake DE I-2023 consisting 10 Officer Cadets; four Medical Officers, one Dental Surgeon, three Civil Engineers and two Electrical and Electronic Engineers was held at the Sino Lanka Friendship Auditorium with the gracing of the Commandant, Brig M T I Mahalekam WWV RWP RSP USP ndu psc as the Chief Guest and the event was also attended by the Wing Heads, Officers and Other Rank Instructors of the Academy.
By addressing these professionals, the Commandant paid his gratitude for their choice in joining the Sri Lanka Army and made them aware of the purpose of military training and the importance of inculcating the moral values in them during training process.
Following the Commandant’s Address, Wing Heads too conducted fruitful awareness sessions to educate the trainees on core military values, disciplines, military curriculums etc in order to orientate them with their meticulous training they are to undergo for three and half months.
