The Security Force Headquarters (Cen) functions as the regional command of the Sri Lanka Army with the responsibility of operational deployment and command of all Army units located in the Central and Southern parts of the country. After assuming duties as the Security Force Commander (Cen), Maj Gen W W H R R V M N D K B Niyangoda RWP RSP VSV USP ndu psc paid his official visit to the Sri Lanka Military Academy on the invitation of the Commandant - SLMA, Major General I A N B Perera RWP USP ndu psc on 15th July 2023.
Upon his arrival, the Commander- SF (Cen) was warmly welcomed by the Commandant along with the Deputy Commandant, Wing Heads and other senior officers of the Academy. In honour of the Commander’s maiden visit as the Commander - SF (Cen) to the Military Academy, he was accorded a traditional Guard Turnout at the ‘A’ gate and customarily the Commander - SF (Cen) laid a flower wreath at the Monument of Peace dedicated for the fallen warriors of the Army. Afterwards, the Commander - SF (Cen) met the Commandant at his office for a casual discussion and then, a group photograph was taken with the SLMA staff at the New Headquarters Complex, where an exchange of mementos between the heads of the institutions also took place to signify the official visit. In hospitality, the Commander was served with refreshments at the Officer Cadets’ Mess, followed by an informal interaction with a cross-section of officers and officer cadets. the official visit was concluded with the signing of the Visitors’ Book in remembrance of his visit to SLMA.
