VISIT OF NMA DELEGATION

The Sri Lanka Military Academy (SLMA) is one of the most favourite destinations of most of the local and foreign personnel and dignitaries. ‘Study Tours’ of tri forces have also given a great prominence to the SLMA as it enables trainees to strengthen ties, comradeship and social skills with army personnel to add a profound meaning to their academic learning.

On 24 April, 2023, a delegation of 23 midshipmen, 06 Other Rank Instructors and 02 Officers from the Naval Military Academy (NMA)- Trincomalee paid a visit to the Military Academy. At their arrival, the delegation was warmly welcomed by the Officer Commanding - Randeniwela Company along with a few senior Cadet Government appointment holders at the main entrance.

The visit began with comprehensive briefings on the significance of the Monument of Peace, Parade Square and Vision Structure. Next, they were educated on the role and tasks of the Sri Lanka Military Academy with the aid of a detailed presentation and a documentary at the Sino Lanka Friendship Auditorium. After that, they were given an opportunity to interact with the Officer Cadets of SLMA while enjoying refreshments at the Officer Cadets’ Mess. Afterwards, a friendly Basketball match was played at the Lieutenant Thilak Nissanka Memorial Indoor Gymnasium, demonstrating their comradeship, sportsmanship and competitiveness. In remembrance of the journey, a group photograph was taken with the presence of the Commandant-SLMA at the Cadets’ Mess and the visit marked its end with the exchange of the mementos after lunch at the Cadets’ Mess.
