The 75th Independence Day, the 4th of Feb 2023 was a significant and cherishing moment for the Sri Lanka Army as eight senior Brigadiers were promoted to the rank of Major General, which included the Commandant-SLMA, Brigadier I A N B Perera RWP USP ndu psc.
On 07 Feb 2023, a felicitation ceremony was held at the Military Academy to treasure this outstanding achievement by giving prominence to military traditions. First, a ceremonial cavalcade escorted Major General I A N B Perera RWP USP ndu psc to the main entrance where a Guard Turnout was accorded and thereafter floral tributes were paid to the War Memorial in commemoration of the war heroes. After the ceremonial Guard of Honour accorded to the Commandant, an “Ironwood” sapling was planted at the Headquarters Complex.
By addressing troops at the Sino-Lanka Friendship Auditorium, he highlighted the importance of being united and working together to achieve the common objectives of the organization. Meanwhile, the trainee officer cadets were advised to follow their training with full-preparedness and dedication to materialize their dream of becoming prudent leaders of the Sri Lanka Army.
A traditional party was hosted in celebrating his promotion where heartiest congratulations and well wishes by all ranks of the Academy were conveyed to the Commandant.
