Empowering the Army with Three Medical Specialists

The Sri Lanka Army as one of the largest organizations of the country is often entrusted with a wide range of military and civil responsibilities. To play its responsible role, professionals in diversified fields with immense capacities and capabilities are absorbed into the military system periodically.

Upon service requirement, three personalities in the field of Medical, K. Sutharshan Consultant Geneto-Urinary Surgeon, KNL Pathiraja, Consultant Dermatologist and SR De Almeida Consultant Orthopedic Surgeon were enlisted to the Sri Lanka Army and given a 14-Day Military Orientation Package comprising of military subjects such as Physical Training, Drill, Weapons Training, Theoretical Aspect of Officer Qualities, Service Writing and Staff Duties in order to orientate to the challenging, yet amazing military lifestyle and experiencing the process of officering.

The basic military course which was begun on 04th November reached its end on 18th November 2022 with traditional “Fall Out’ Ceremony which symbolizes successful completion of military training, orientation and commissioning with the gracious presence of the Commandant of the Sri Lanka Military Academy as the Chief Guest.

On this occasion, the three officers were awarded with the certificates which marked the conclusion of their basic military orientation package at Diyatalawa. This undying memory was captured with the Chief Guest, Wing Heads and the newly Commissioned Medical Experts in the aftermath of the Certificate Awarding Ceremony.
