‘Orator Competitions’ are introduced and promoted in present education systems due to the fact that it opens up education passages to develop deeper knowledge and public speaking skills within students.
On 25 May 2022, the second consecutive Best Orator Competition was held at the Sino -Lanka Friendship Auditorium with the participation of Intake 91,92,91B, SC19, Lady 19, 61 (V), 61A (V), Lay 18 (V) and DE 1/2022 under the theme of “Power of Speech”. The final selection was made after conducting a few initial rounds in syndicate and intake levels, hence nine speakers representing their respective intakes competed for the award of ‘The Best Orator’ which was adjudged based on presentation and public speaking skills such as enrichment of the content, vocal delivery, emotional delivery, physical delivery etc. After a head-head competition, L/O/Cdt AMRN Attanayaka of Lady Intake 19 was chosen as “ the Runner-up of the Best Orator Competition of the year 2022 while the award for the Best Orator was triumphantly claimed by Foreign Officer Cadet, E Mpatisha of Intake 91 B, whose achievements were heartedly appreciated by the Chief Guest, Maj Gen WWHRRVMNDKB Niyangoda RWP RSP USP ndu psc at the awarding ceremony. Also, the energetic, enthusiastic and thought-provoking presentations of every presenter was credited with award of certificates.
The voices of the presenters echoed at the Auditorium geminated the august gathering with a novel experience and took them on a fascinating educative tour on 25th evening.
