VISIT OF STUDENT OFFICERS OF SCC AND JSC OF THE ARMY WAR COLLEGE (AWC) TO SLMA

On 26 March 2022 A delegation of 148 including 131 Student Officers from Senior Command Course and Junior Staff Course along with the Chief Instructor, Senior Officers and Directing Staff of the Army War College (AWC) visited the Sri Lanka Military Academy with the intention of educating the student officers on ceremonial drills.

At their arrival, the delegation was warmly welcomed by the Commandant, Maj Gen WWHRRVMNDKB Niyangoda RWP RSP USP ndu psc and all Wing Heads of the Military Academy. Later, they witnessed a series of demonstrations on Street Line, Monument Briefing, Vison/Mission Briefing, Guard Turn out, Guard of Honour, Guard Mounting and Dismounting, Staff Parade and Funeral Drill performed by the NCO students of the Drill Instructors’ course-126 followed by the Q & A session.

All the Student officers of SCC and JSC were addressed by the Commandant of SLMA and the delegation was made aware of the role and tasks of the Academy, their responsibility of educating and taking care of trainee officer cadets or newly commissioned officers in the unit/regimental lines. Finally, the mementos were exchanged in memory of the visit of AWC to the SLMA.
