Interview, qualitative in nature is one of the effective ways to gather data in the world of research. This methodological approach helps the researcher to explore a topic or subject area in considerable depth with opinions, attitudes, experiences of the interviewee.
On 25th November, 2021, a research team of 12 Officer Cadets from Intake 89, 90, 89 (B), 60 (V) and Lady 17 (V) at the threshold of their Commissioning interviewed the Chief of Defence Staff and Commander of the Army, General Shavendra Silva to collect firsthand data for their research study on ‘Rise of Taliban in Afghanistan and its Spillover Effects on South Asian Region’s Extremism and Terrorism.’ During the interview, the Officer Cadets were able to better explore the research subject in the Commander’s perspective and to bag very significant inputs to reinforce the study.
The interview was also attended by the Commandant, Chief Instructor and a few senior officers of the SLMA.
