The Annual Inter-Company Combat Firing Meet-2020 was held at the Field Firing Range of Fox Hill on 25th and 26th September 2020. The firing meet was organized in order to test leadership skills of officer cadets, their skills in clearing obstacles, section level fire and maneuver and effective engagement of targets in a battle environment. The officer cadet intakes of 88, 88B, 89, Lady 18 representing four companies competed for the Trophy of Champion Company. The clearing of Battle Obstacles, two-kilometer-run and engaging in targets while tactical maneuver were the biggest challenges for the competitors.
The second section of Gonnoruwa Company displayed their maximum performance above all other sections and secured most of the awards of the competition. The awards for the Best Gun Group, the Best Riffle Group and the Best Section were bagged by the Gonnoruwa Company under brilliant lead of PL/U/O DMUGBR Dissanayake, the Best Section Commander of the competition. Having mounted the top in scores, Gonnoruwa Company claimed the Champions of the Annual Combat Firing Meet -2020.
The Deputy Commandant, Brigadier R W Ponnamperuma attended the prize giving as the Chief Guest. The best section showed case their talents with an exhibition shoot and the firing meet came to an end by taking a group photograph with the Chief Guest.
