The 123rd Drill Instructor Course commenced on 10th August 2020 at the Ella Camp of the Sri Lanka Military Academy where the opening address was delivered by the Commandant, Brigadier A K G K U Gnanaratne ndc psc at the Sino-Lanka Friendship Auditorium.
The course comprises of 167 NCOs of sergeant and above ranks representing various Regiments of the Army who will follow a comprehensive four-month course to become qualified drill instructors in their respective regiments. Upon successful completion of the course they will be awarded with the coveted DI badge to perform as drill instructors in the Army where drill is considered to mould and discipline soldiers.
In delivering the opening address, the Commandant welcomed all participants and congratulated them to follow the course successfully. The Deputy Commandant, Wing Heads, course officers and DI’s of the course, too participated in the ceremony.
