The final countdown of the Inter-Company Volleyball Competition between Gannoruwa Coy and Randeniwala Coy was held at the Academy Gymnasium on 04th March 2020 with the participation of all cadet intakes.
The match was really open, tight and competitive till the last dash as the victory was occasionally swinging between the both companies. At the final breath-taking round, Gannoruwa coy secured its position and claimed for an amazing victory. The event was well-organized and conducted by the responsible officers of the participant intakes and non-stop cheering of the crowd energized players’ spirit to the peak. The event added a remarkable experience to the trainee cadets and to all spectators.
The event was graced by the Head of the military academy, Brigadier A K G K U Gnanaratne psc as the Chief Guest while it was attended by the new Deputy Commandant, Brig R W Ponnamperuma RSP psc, wing heads, officers, officer cadets and other ranks of the Academy. At the prize giving, the runner-up team, Randeniwela Coy was awarded the certificates by the Deputy Commandant. Meanwhile, the presentation of certificates and the SHIELD for the victorious Gonnoruwa Coy was done by the Chief Guest with heartiest congratulations. Also, it was not forgotten to appreciate the job well done by the referees of the competition with award of special presents by the Commandant.
