INSTALLATION OF WEAPON TRAINING SIMULATORS

Three weapon training simulators were established in the Ella camp of the SLMA for the purpose of giving actual field firing experience in a domesticated setting. This training facility was installed by the Directorate of IT in the Army as per a concept of the Commander of the Army. This will enable the officer cadets to gain a novel experience of firing small arms; firing from 25-100M ranges, rapid firing, moving targets, virtual enemy targets, with day and night firing capability, zeroing of small arms in a safe environment. The opening ceremony took place on 25^th January which was attended by the Commandant of the Sri Lanka Military Academy, Brigadier Shantha Eshwaran, the Dy Commandant, Wing Heads, senior officers and officers of the Academy.
