The “Exercise Scorpion,” one of the main exercises in the cadet training curriculum at the Sri Lanka Military Academy was conducted from 24th – 30th March 2019 in the general area of Wellawaya. Thirty-one officer cadets of Intake 87 participated in the exercise which was designed and conducted by the Military Training Wing of the Academy.
This exercise is conducted for all trainees in the penultimate term of studies to give them practical knowledge on Internal Security (IS) Operations in situations where civilians and public institutions are involved. The Commandant, Brigadier S K Eshwaran visited the exercise during the latter part of it.
