The SLMA conducted a special training program for Road Development Authority (RDA) engineers titled “Seminar 2019” on Leadership and Disaster Management on 22nd and 23rd of March 2019.
232 executives from all provinces took part in the workshop which included a symposium where areas such as landslide mitigation, disaster management, leadership, coping stress, healthy life and user friendliness of our roads were discussed by an eminent panel consisting of military and civil experts in these disciplines. Practical session were on team-building, case studies and decision making and quick response to situations.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by the Commander SF (J) Major General Darshana Hettiarrachchi as the Chief Guest while the Additional Director General (Construction Design) and Director Administration Eng SHU De Silva together with a large number of high ranking officials from RDA graced the occasion.
The Commandant of the SLMA Brigadier Shantha Eshwaran delivered the welcome address and Dr Jayalath Edirisinghe, the Head of Civil Engineering Department - university of Peradeniya also addressed the seminar.
