SLMA BID FAREWELL TO ITS COMMANDANT

On 16^th January 2019, the family of the SLMA held a series of events to bid farewell to the former Commandant Brigadier H H A S P K Senaratne who completed a two year tenure at Diyatalawa. In his departure he was accorded with a grand ceremonial military parade at the academy parade square. The parade which consisted of 28 Officers, 134 Other Ranks and 104 Officer Cadets was commanded by the Director Academics, Colonel P N Godellawatta USP psc. Having addressed the troops after the parade, he emphasized the importance of commitment, military core values, traditions and SOPs to exercise a remarkable role at the Academy, which gives full self-satisfaction every day.

He was awarded a memento in appreciation of his leadership and invaluable service to the development of the Military Academy. Finally, his departure was marked with a traditional street lining procession amidst showers of blessings by every member of SLMA.
