203 undergraduates and 7 lecturers from the University of Wayamba called on the Sri Lanka Military Academy, Diyatalawa on 17th November 2018 for a two-day research based field workshop. Upon arrival, they paid tribute to the Cenotaph erected in memory of the fallen heroes.
On 18th morning, they engaged in a physical training schedule at the Polo Grounds thereby experiencing the military way of life. Later, they took part in a lecture on how cadets are trained, watched a video on cadet life and listened to an update of how the final Humanitarian Operation was conducted by the military. During their workshop, they also visited the Officer Cadets’ Mess and the Library of SLMA.
As part of the program they were taken to see the Marksmanship and Sniper Training School located in close proximity to the Field Firing Range at Fox Hill.
