PARENTS OF INTAKE 59 (V) VISIT SLMA

The Sri Lanka Military Academy organized a special meeting with the parents of Intake 59 (V) officer cadets on 12th August 2018 at the Colonel Fazly Laphir Memorial Auditorium where the Commandant, Brigadier Priyantha Senaratne, Commanding Officer of the Officer Cadet Wing, Colonel Ajith Wikramasekara and Chief Instructor of the Military Training Wing, Colonel Nilantha Premaratne addressed them. It functioned more as an interactive session, especially for parents to understand the type of military training their sons are undergoing at the Military Academy. The respective course officers and company commanders also participated in the event and they all interacted with parents. These officers emphasized the importance of allowing young school-leaving adults to undergo military training in order to transform them to be competent junior officers and useful citizens.

The parents also watched the Academy presentation and a special video on the performance of Intake 59 (V) officer cadets which contained all what they have been doing at SLMA until now. As a special feature, senior cadets talked about their training experience with parents. The whole session gave a wonderful opportunity for parents to learn that their sons are well-looked after and in safe hands at the Academy.
