Thirty-eight officer cadets of DE Intake II - 2018 arrived at the SLMA on 12 July 2018 for their basic military training. The batch comprises of professionals from various fields such as medicine, engineering, architecture, air ticketing, performing arts, criminology and agriculture. Their basic training will continue for four months at the SLMA before being commissioned into the ranks of Lieutenant, Captain or Major based on their qualifications.
The Commandant of the institute Brigadier Priyantha Senaratne addressed them on 01 August 2018 in his customary Opening Address at the Col Fazly Laphir Auditorium and extended a very warm welcome to the prestigious Sri Lanka Military Academy. The Deputy Commandant, Wing Heads, respective course officers and company commanders also were present at the occasion.
In his address, he emphasized three vital aspects of training; discipline, integrity and commitment.The Commandant wished them all the very best to follow the course.
