INDIAN ARMY CHIEF OF STAFF VISITS SLMA

The Chief of the Army Staff of the Indian Army, General Bipin Rawat UYSM AVSM YSM SM VSM ADC and his spouse together with a delegation of high-ranking officers called on the Sri Lanka Military Academy on 16th May 2018.

They were accorded a warm welcome by the Commandant Brigadier Priyantha Senaratne and the brief program included a wreath laying at the Monument of Peace, planting an ironwood tree and a presentation on the SLMA conducted by the Commanding Officer of the Officer Cadet Wing, Colonel Ajith Wickramasekera.

The Commandant presented the Indian Army Chief with a special plaque in appreciation of his visit to the Academy and souvenirs to all members of the delegation. The Chief of Indian Army Staff too presented mementoes to the SLMA. Prior to their departure, they were hosted for tea at the Cadets’ Mess where a cross section of cadets had the opportunity to interact with them.
