The flagship of motorsports in Sri Lanka, Fox Hill Supercross was held on 21st April 2018 at Diyatalawa Fox Hill circuit for the twenty-sixth consecutive year. The event was organized by the Sri Lanka Military Academy in collaboration with the Ministry of Sports, Sri Lanka Army Motorsports Committee, Sri Lanka Automobile Sports and Federation of Motorcycle Sports in Sri Lanka. Over 300 drivers and riders joined the races in twenty-three car and motorcycle events. As such, the event attracted a large volume of motorsports enthusiasts from all around the country.
A special felicitation banquet was held at the Officers’ Mess on 20th evening in appreciation of all sponsors of Fox Hill Supercross 2018, where they were presented with plaques and gifts by the Commandant of the Sri Lanka Military Academy Brigadier Priyantha Senaratne.
Admiral Ravindra C Wijegunaratne, Chief of Defence Staff graced the occasion as the Chief Guest while many senior officers, sponsors and invitees too were present.
Ashan Silva won the Major General Gamini Gunasekara Memorial Challenge Trophy awarded to the Champion Driver and Ishan Dassanayaka bagged the Hans Ralf Challenge Trophy awarded to the Champion Rider. Also, a special memorial trophy was presented to Mrs Ananda Wedisinghe in memory of late Ananda Wedisinghe, the legendary champion Fox Hill Rider who succumbed to his injuries at Nuwara Eliya in 2017.
