This noble initiative was carried out following the guidance of the Army Commander, with the specific direction of the Commander of Security Forces (Jaffna). On October 8, 2024, the 1st Mechanized Infantry Regiment launched a comprehensive Dengue Control Programme aimed at eliminating dengue mosquito breeding sites. The operation took place along both sides of the A09 road, from Aiyakachchi Junction to Aiyakachchi Fuel Station, and from Aiyakachchi Junction to Pulleadi, within the KN/79 Gramasewa Division.
