Due to the recent adverse weather conditions, reconstruction work on the bridge located in the Kandaweli area along the A-35 road, which had been damaged, was carried out today (15 December 2025) under the supervision of the 55 Infantry Division. For this task, a troop contingent of 01 officer with 16 soldiers from the 6 Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment, 02 officers with 21 soldiers from the 9 Sri Lanka Engineers, 01 soldier from the Corps of Engineer Service provided assistance. Additionally, 14 personnel from the Road Development Authority and a team of 40 Indian Army representatives and engineers involved in the construction of the new bridge also participated in the operation.
