As part of the ‘Clean Sri Lanka Programme’ initiated under the vision of His Excellency the president, a cleaning initiative was organized by Security Forces (Jaffna), headed by Major General Manada Yahampath RWP RSP ndu psc - the Commander, Security Forces (Jaffna) and the supervision of Major General VDS Perera - the General Officer Commanding of 52 Infantry Division on 22 January 2025.
The troops of 521, 522 and 523 Infantry Brigades, joined hands with the Divisional Secretariat - Maradankeny, Pradeshiya Saba - Maradankeny, Divisional Hospital - Maradankerny, Public Health Inspector Office - Chempiyanpattu, Sri Lanka Navy and the local civilian community to restore the natural beauty of the Thalaiyadi Beach and promote environmental awareness.
This collaborative effort was a proud contribution to the "Clean Sri Lanka" initiative, carried out under the uplifting theme, "Beautiful Island, Smiling People" and 350 military personnel and 250 civilians joined for the event. The Jaffna Commander empathized for the participants that this initiative not only aimed to clean the beach but also to foster a sense of responsibility among participants, in order to preserve clean and beauty coastal belt.
