Showing great magnanimity towards the supply for life-supporting accessories, Mr. Ragikaran Shanmugarathnam, domiciled in Canada at the request of Brigadier EMLP Ekanayake USP, the Commander of 513 Infantry Brigade came forward to sponsor 50 Foot Bicycles to students, 25 Dry Ration packs for elderly women and 25 Nutritious packs for pregnant mothers of low-income group families in the Kirimalai, Jaffna.

On the instruction given by the Commander 55 Infantry Division Major General B G S Fernanado USP Hdmc psc and direct supervision of the Commander 551 Infantry Brigade, Commanding Officer 11 (V) Gajaba Regiment, 02 x 15 troops assisted in strengthening the Palamkulam tank bund by laying 300 x sandbags despite continuous heavy rains.
