  • Community Service Project by the 55 Infantry Division to Clean Wells Contaminated by Floods

    Due to adverse weather conditions, several areas in the Kilinochchi District experienced flooding, resulting in the contamination of domestic wells used by civilians for drinking water. In response to this situation, troops of the 55 Infantry Division carried out a community service project to clean these affected wells on 06 December 2025, under the direction of the General Officer Commanding, 55 Infantry Division. A total of 04 teams comprising 04 officer and 36 soldiers from battalion headquarters under the 55 Infantry Division participated in this effort. The following tasks were successfully completed:

  • Military and Social Media Contributors Unite to Deliver Aid in Kilinochchi

    Under the coordination of the 4 Military Intelligence Corps Regiment and the leadership of the General Officer Commanding , 55 Infantry Division, 500 dry-ration relief packs containing dry food items and sanitary supplies were distributed on 06 December 2025 to displaced families in the Kilinochchi area. This humanitarian initiative was supported by social media content creators (Vini Production, Siril Ayya, Konara Vlogs and Kandy Tours) together with sponsors from the Kilinochchi region.

  • General Officer Commanding, 55 Infantry Division Meets Indian Army Delegation on Restoration of Damaged Kandaweli Bridge

    Due to the adverse weather conditions experienced in recent days, the bridge located near the 10th milepost in the Kandaweli area on the A-35 road was severely damaged. In order to discuss the reconstruction of the bridge, Major General Aruna Wijekoon USP ndc, the General Officer Commanding, 55 Infantry Division, visited the site to meet with representatives and engineers of the Indian Army who had arrived to assess and support the restoration work.

  • 51 Infantry Division Troops Further Strengthen Community Assistance Operations Across Jaffna Peninsula

    Troops of the 51 Infantry Division under Security Force Headquarters Jaffna continued their community assistance operations across the Jaffna Peninsula on 6 December 2025, marking the fourth consecutive day of sustained CIMIC oriented activities amidst the aftermath of Cyclone Ditwah and the prevailing adverse weather conditions. All three brigades under command remained actively engaged in supporting affected communities through water distribution, well cleaning and restoration operations, religious site cleaning programmes and the rehabilitation of educational facilities across the Division area of responsibility.

  • Community Welfare Support by the 55 Infantry Division for People Affected by Adverse Weather Conditions in Kilinochchi

    Under the guidance of the General Officer Commanding of the 55 Infantry Division, several community welfare programs were conducted on 05 December 2025 by the troops of Infantry Brigades and battalions operating under the Division in order to provide relief to people affected by the adverse weather conditions in the Kilinochchi area. These programs included the distribution of drinking water and the purification of water sources.

  • 51 Infantry Division Troops Maintain Continuous Community Assistance Operations Across Jaffna Peninsula

    Troops of the 51 Infantry Division under Security Force Headquarters (Jaffna) continued their community assistance operations across the Jaffna Peninsula on 5 December 2025, marking the third consecutive day of intensive relief efforts in response to Cyclone Ditwah and prevailing adverse weather conditions. Soldiers from all three brigades under command systematically addressed community needs through well cleaning and restoration operations, drainage improvements, and cleaning programmes at educational, religious, and healthcare facilities.

  • 10 Field Engineer Regiment Troops Extend Support to Relief Efforts Across the Jaffna Peninsula

    A massive tree fell onto the roof of the Ayyanar Kovil in Kadduwan due to heavy rains and strong winds caused by adverse DITWAH weather conditions. Troops of 10 Field Engineer Regiment were promptly deployed with a Boom truck to clear the affected area on 02, 03, 04 and 05 December 2025.

    Troops of the 51 Infantry Division under Security Force Headquarters (Jaffna) maintained their intensive humanitarian operations across the Jaffna Peninsula on 4 December 2025, marking the third consecutive day of sustained relief efforts in response to Cyclone Ditwah and adverse weather conditions. Soldiers from all three brigades under command continued to address critical community needs through ongoing restoration projects, well cleaning and restoration operations, drainage improvement works, and systematic cleaning programmes at educational and healthcare facilities throughout the region.
