A Focused Knowledge-Sharing Session Titled “Disseminate Engineer Services More Effectively And Efficiently” Conducted At Security Forces (Jaffna)

A focused knowledge-sharing session titled “Disseminate Engineer Services More Effectively and Efficiently” was successfully conducted on 24 July 2025 at Headquarters, Security Forces (Jaffna). The session was organized by the Security Forces Headquarters (Jaffna) under the guidance of Major General KAN Rasika Kumara ndc psc, the Commander Security Forces (Jaffna), under the supervision of Brigadier YKS Rangika psc ptsc, the Director Engineer Services with the primary aim of improving awareness and procedural clarity among officers and ORs on how to effectively utilize the services provided by the Directorate of Engineer Services.

The session was graced by the Director Engineer Services, who provided key insights and addressed field-level concerns. Supporting the session, several officers from the Directorate of Engineer Services delivered technical presentations, including Lieutenant Colonel OMR Priyantha, Lieutenant Colonel AK Weerasinghe USP, and Major K Anojan. Their contributions were instrumental in explaining the correct procedures for submitting job requests in line with the latest public financial circulars and Ministry of Defence instructions. Special attention was given to the preparation of supporting documents without errors or omissions, as well as the proper and efficient execution of procurement activities.

Army officers and ORs serving under SFHQ (Jaffna) actively participated in the event. The session provided a valuable platform for direct interaction, where participants raised practical questions and received immediate guidance and solutions from the Director Engineer Services. This open dialogue helped resolve existing issues and clarified key aspects of engineering-related processes.

The session played a significant role in strengthening the link between field units and the Directorate of Engineer Services. It also promoted a better understanding of compliance requirements, enhanced procedural transparency, and reinforced the importance of timely and accurate documentation. Overall, the initiative contributed to ensuring that engineer services are delivered more efficiently and effectively across military establishments in the region.

Number of Senior Officers, Officers representing Security Force Headquarters (Jaffna), under Command Divisions, Brigades and Units were present to this informative workshop and obtained spectrum of knowledge.
