Under the visionary guidance and leadership of Major General Manada Yahampath RWP RSP ndu psc, Commander Security Forces Jaffna, and directed by the 52 Infantry Division, the 521 Infantry Brigade organized a football tournament to foster goodwill, unity, and sportsmanship among the youth while strengthening bonds between the civilian community and the military.
The tournament kicked off with preliminary matches on January 11, 2025, at the 521 Infantry Brigade grounds and concluded with the finals on January 16 at Colins Ground, Nelliady, within the 52 Infantry Division area.
In an impressive final match, Kodikamam Football Club represented by 523 Infantry Brigade secured a 3-0 victory over Wadamarachchi Football Club representing 521 Infantry Brigade.
The Chief Guest, Brigadier WKSPMRAB Dodamwela, Commander of the 522 Infantry Brigade, presided over the finals, joined by senior officers, local officials, and community leaders.
Generous support from local sponsors, including Sellamuthu Textiles, Hotel White Tower, T20 Sports, Kuputhu Hotel, and Colombo Tex, contributed to the tournament's success.
