In conjunction with the 77th National Independence Day, a cleaning programme was organized at either side of the A-09 Road from Elephant Pass to Ayyakachchi Junction on 03 February 2025, covering the three aspects of social, environmental, attitudinal and developmental.
The programme was conducted with the participation of 25 troops along with Lieutenant Colonel PR Atapattu USP MIR, the Commanding Officer of the Battalion, 04 troops from 7th Battalion, Sri Lanka Army Women’s Corps, the Principal, teachers and students of Iyyakachchi M.V, Grama Niladari, Development Officer, Samurdhi Development Officer and local population.
The programme was carried out under the guidance of Major General VDS Perera, the General Officer Commanding of 52 Infantry Division and the supervision of the Brigadier WKSPMRAB Dodamwala psc, the Commander of 522 Infantry Brigade.
