  • CHRISTMAS CAROLS ORGANIZED BY 24 DIVISION

    To coincide with the Christmas celebrations, 241 Brigade Akkaraipattu and the 11 Battalion of the Sri Lanka National Guard headed by Commander 241 Brigade Colonel Janaka Wimalarathne organized a Christmas Carols programme on 23 Dec 2019 under the guidance of the General Officer Commanding 24 Division Major General Chinthaka Gamage.

  • EASTERN TROOPS ENGAGE IN RELIEF OPERATIONS

    Troops under the Security Forces - East, are continuing their relief operations with commitment for the benefit of flood victims as heavy rains continued in the area these days. Service of those troops has been made available for the assistance of the public on the directions of the Security Force Headquarters (East).

  • RE-CONSTRUCTION OF FLOOD DEFENCE BANK IN MAHAOYA

    Under the supervision of SF HQ (E) & 24 Division, 16 Sri Lanka National Guard Battalion in cooperation with Divisional Secretariat Mahaoya, Irrigation Department and civilians re-constructed the eroded bund of Mahasiyambalakandiya Tank in general area Mahaoya using sand bags to prevent destruction of the bunt.

  • EAST TROOPS LEARN ABOUT HIV/ AIDS & ‘SUICIDE PREVENTION’

    Troops of the Security Forces – East were enlightened on ‘Human Immune Deficiency Virus and Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome (HIV/AIDS)’ & ‘Suicide Prevention’ in a series of valuable lectures organized by the Directorate of Psychological Operations during 02 to 05 Dec 19. These awareness sessions were organized on a concept of the Commander of the Army, Lieutenant General L H S C Silva WWV RWP RSP VSV USP ndc psc along with the guidance of Commander Security Forces East, Major General H R N Fernando RSP ndc.

  • 241 BRIGADE TROOPS OFFER BREAKFAST TREAT

    Troops of 241 Brigade as a part of their community engagement projects, offered a breakfast treat to 32 families displaced by floods in Nawakkadu, Alaiyadivembu Divisional Secretariat of Ampara District on Sunday (08) under the guidance of Commander, 241 Brigade Colonel WBJK Wimalaratne RWP RSP.

  • EAST TROOPS REPAIR A FLOOD DEFENCE BUND TO AVERT A CATASTROPHE

    With the guidance of Commander Security Forces East, Major General HRN Fernando RSP ndc, troops of 222 Brigade and 5(V) Sri Lanka Artillery rushed to avert an imminent major catastrophe when they timely managed to repair the flood defence bund of Mahaweli River at Siththaru Samagipura which was facing a threat of bursting at any moment of the day as torrential rains continued.
