With the blessing and guidance of the Commander Security Forces (East), Major General Sujeewa Hettiarachch, and instruction of the General Officer Commanding 23 Infantry Division, Major General Shewanth Kulathunga, and close supervision of Commander 231 Infantry Brigade, Brigadier Dilupa Bandara, with coordination of the Civil Affairs Officer 231 Infantry Brigade, Lieutenant Colonel Dammika Weerasinghe, the 11th Battalion Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment has organized essential items for the disabled persons and spiritual goods donation programme in the Mangalagama area (Eravurpaththu- Chenkaladi Divisional Secretary area) at “Mangalagama Sri Dharmarama” Temple on Tuesday (17 Jan).
11 Inches of height 60 statues of "Lord Buddha", 60 books of "Bodi Pooja", 3 wheelchairs, an air mattress for disabled persons, and a dry ration bag worth Rs.10000 have been distributed. The donation programme has been conducted under the sponsorship of the "Manusath Hadawath" social service foundation and the "Dahamala" Social service foundation.
Brigade Commander 231 Infantry Brigade, Brigadier Dilupa Bandara grace the occasion as a chief guest and Civil Affairs Officer 231 Infantry Brigade, Lieutenant Colonel Dammika Weerasinghe and Commanding Officer of 11th Battalion Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment, Major Nimal Padmasiri with the officer and other ranks of the battalion participate for the donation programme and also Miss Shashikala Gunarathna, the coordinator of "Manusath Hadawath" social service foundation, Miss Nadee Samarasinghe the coordinator of "Dahamala" socials service foundation took part in the donation programme. 85 civil persons gathered for the programme in the Mangalagama area.
