  • HANDING OVER OF MEDICAL EQUITMENT TO BATTICALOA TEACHING HOSPITAL

    In response to a request made by the Chief of Covid - 19 Task Force Batticaloa, Commander 23 Infantry Division Major General KANN Koswatta RWP RSP ndc, Kattankudy Muslim Federation donated 80 Degree ULT Freezer and Mortuary Container worth of Rs. 4 million, to Batticaloa Teaching Hospital on 11 December 2021.

  • 24 DIVISION TROOPS CONDUCTS DENGUE PREVENTION CAMPAIGN

    Under the instructions of the General Officer Commanding 24 Infantry Division Major General ChamindaLamahewa a dengue eradication campaign was launched by the troops of 24 Infantry Division with the collaboration of RDHS Office Kalmuneion 08 November 2021, with a view to control the spread of dengue menace in the Ampara District.

  • GENERAL OFFICER COMMANDING 22 INFANTRY DIVISION VISITS UNDER COMMAND BRIGADES AND BATTALIONS

    The General Officer Commanding of the 22 Infantry Division, Major General WBWMRSP Aluvihare RWP RSP paid his official visits to 221, 222, 223 Brigade Headquarters and under command battalions 6 SLAC, 15 SLLI, 5(V) SLA, 2(V) GR, 17 SLNG, 22 VIR from 01 Nov 2021 to 07 Nov 2021. During the visit, GOC conducted troop addresses at all Brigade and Battalion Headquarters to give guidance, instructions and convey the messages passed down by Commander of the Army related to discipline.

  • 'SANDAHIRU SEYA' SACRED CREST-GEM & PINNACLE VENERATED BY THE PUBLIC IN THE EAST

    Amidst blessings of the MahaSangha, the religious procession carrying the ‘Sacred Pinnacle’ and the ‘Crest-Gem’ of the 'Sandahiru' Stupa arrived at 10 temples in the Security Force (East) area during 16 to 21 October for public veneration.

  • HELPLESS CIVILIAN IN SENGAMUWA GETS NEW HOUSE WITH ARMY HELP

    With the sponsorship provided by Mr Athula Jayasinghe living in Australia, troops of 23 Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment under the guidance of Major General Chaminda Lamahewa - General Officer Commanding 24 Infantry Division and Commander – 242 Infantry Brigade Brigadier Chandika Peris, took the initiative of building a new house for a needy family in Pothuvil area.

  • FMA-EAST TROOPS GIVE HELPING HAND TO 'DEMALA MAHA SEYA' RENOVATIONS

    The troops of the Forward Maintenance Area - East (FMA-East) on Saturday (16 October) gave their helping hand for the ongoing renovations of 'Demala Maha Seya', a Stupa constructed by King Parakramabahu the Great in the 12th century BC that lies between the Gal Viharaya (rock shrine) and Thiwanka Pilimage (image house) in the ancient city of Polonnaruwa.
