An Administration and Logistics Conference was convened at the Headquarters of 23 Infantry Division on 19 January 2026 under the chairmanship of Major General GPP Kulatilaka ndc the General Officer Commanding, 23 Infantry Division.

Under the direction of Major General Priyanga Kulatilaka ndc, the General Officer Commanding, 23 Infantry Division, this Headquarters organized a lecture session on current affairs and answering techniques aimed at the Promotion Examination – 2026. The lecture was conducted on 24 January 2026.

In order to provide relief to civilians who were affected by the adverse weather conditions that impacted the island, a community welfare programme was conducted with the coordination of 22 Infantry Division and Major General A P I Fernando (Retired) RWP USP. Through the financial contributions of said Senior Officer’s Cousin sister, Dr. Yamani Gunawardhana, who resides in the United States of America, along with family members, dry ration packs were distributed to selected needy families in Morawewa area. This community service programme was held on 20 January 2026 at Divisional Secretariat Office - Morawewa, located within the Area of Responsibility of the 6 (Rft) Regiment Sri Lanka Armoured Corps.

The newly appointed General Officer Commanding of 22 Infantry Division, Major General WBMKGK Weerasekara WWV RWP RSP USP AUSWC psc conducted a field visit to the most sensitive places of Mawil Aru and Neelapola-Kanguweli areas to assess the impact of recent adverse weather. Accompanied by the Brigade Commander of the 222 Infantry Brigade and the Commanding Officer of the 9th Battalion Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment.

Through the financial contributions of his Cousin sister, Dr. Yamani Gunawardhana, who resides in the United States of America, along with family members, 200 dry ration packs and 100 school bags for school children were distributed to 200 selected needy families in the area. This community service programme was held on 19th January 2026 at Arfath Muslim School - Pulmoddai, located within the area of responsibility of the 20th Battalion of the Gajaba Regiment.
