The 24 Infantry Division, on 4 October 2023 organized a school accessories distribution programme at Ampara Wadinagala Vidyalaya with the intention of giving underway helping hands to uplift the education standard of the students in remote areas. This programme was organized according to the guidance and directions of the General Officer Commanding 24 Infantry Division, Major General W Chandrasiri RSP USP psc, with the assistance of the 241 Infantry Brigade and the 8 Sri Lanka National Guard.

Considering the future challenge of tsunami disaster, the Disaster Management Centre of Sri Lanka conducted an exercise in the general area Kuchchaweli, to aware the community against any tsunami situation in the area.
