2(V) BATTALION OF GAJABA REGIMENT LAYS FOUNDATION STONE FOR HOUSE FOR LOW-INCOME FAMILY.

Under the guidance of the Commander Security Forces (East), Major General P. R. Pathiravithana, USAWC psc, and the close supervision of the General Officer Commanding the 22 Infantry Division, the 2(V) Battalion of the Gajaba Regiment, deployed under the 221 Infantry Brigade, laid the foundation stone for a house for a low-income family.

This project was carried out as part of civil-military coordination activities, with the generous support of Major General P. A. M. Peiris (Retired) RSP USP psc and financial sponsorship provided by Mr. N. Rathnayake. The foundation stone laying ceremony took place on 26 April 2025 in Trincomalee.

The General Officer Commanding the 24 Infantry Division graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. The Commander of the 221 Infantry Brigade, senior and junior officers, other ranks, and civilians were also present at the event.
