Major General WBMKGK Weerasekara WWV RWP RSP USP AUSWC psc, General Officer Commanding of the 22 Infantry Division, paid official visits to the 221 Infantry Brigade, 6 th (Rft) Sri Lanka Armoured Corps and 20 th Battalion Gajaba Regiment on 10 and 11 February 2026 respectively.
Upon arrival at each formation, The General Officer Commanding was received with due military honoursby the Brigade Commander, 221 Infantry Brigade, Brigadier BAMC Beligaswatta RSP and respective Commanding Officers was accorded a formal guard turnout in honour of his visit.
Addressing the troops, the GOC emphasized the paramount importance of maintaining discipline among soldiers, highlighting that individual conduct directly influences the reputation of the Sri Lanka Army as well as society at large. He further underscored the need to continuously enhance professional military knowledge and to execute assigned duties with dedication and precision.
