  • 22 DIVISION TROOPS DONATE BLOOD TO TRINCOMALEE HOSPITAL

    22 Division organized a Blood Donation Campaign at the 6 SLAC in 223 Bde AOR on 21 (Thursday) in order to donate blood to the blood bank of District General Hospital Trincomalee, in response to a request made by Dr MF Zeena Zanooz Consultant Transfusion Physician of Regional Blood Centre – Trincomalee.

  • DISTRIBUTION OF ESSENTIAL GOODS - 233 BRIGADE

    A humanitarian assistance programme organised by 233 Brigade to distribute essential goods donated by the Lions club of Batticaloa was held at Koonjankulam village on 16 May 2020. 70 dry ration packs were distributed among 70 families of Koonjankulam village.

  • 231 BRIGADE COORDINATES A DONATION OF ESSENTIAL ITEMS FOR NEEDY FAMILIES

    To coincide with the Vesak Full Moon Poya day, 231 Brigade under the Security Force Headquarters – East (SFHQ-E) coordinated a donation of essential items for under-privileged families in Batticaloa area on 08 May 2020 with the sponsorship provided by several generous donors.

  • A DISINFECTION CHAMBER SET UP AT SECURITY FORCE HEADQUARTERS (EAST)

    Newly innovated Disinfection Chamber was installed at the main entrance of the Security Force Headquarters (East) Welikanda, on the directions of the Commander Security Forces (East) Major General Rasika Frnando and with the supervision of the Brigadier Admin and Quartering SFHQ(E) Brigadier Priyantha Weerasinghe on 02 May 2020.

  • 233 BRIGADE COORDINATES A DONATION OF ESSENTIAL GOODS

    In another community welfare project under the Civil-Military Coordination (CIMIC), Headquarters 233 Brigade organized a donation of essential goods for needy families in Mankerni & Tikkana villages on 23 April 2020. Under the directions of the Commander Security Forces (East) Major General Rasika Fernando and with the supervision of the General Officer Commanding 23 Division Major General Dhammika Jayasundara and Commander 233 Brigade Brigadier Rajith Elvitigala, the programme was organised by 233 Brigade where 60 x dry ration packs were distributed among needy families.

  • SECURITY FORCES EAST LAUNCHES A MEGA BEACH CLEAN-UP PROJECT

    With the conceptual guidance of the environmentally-conscious Major General Rasika Fernando the Commander Security Forces (East), a mega beach clean-up project got underway on Friday (06) covering the coastal regions of the Eastern Province that have been increasingly subjected to pollution.

  • LONG-FELT NEED OF DRINKING WATER IN TIKKANA VILLAGE WAS FULFILLED BY 233 BRIGADE

    To coincide with forthcoming 29th Anniversary of the 233 Brigade - Vakarai, a charity programme organized under the guidance of General Officer Commanding, 23 Division Major General Dhammika Jayasundara, was held on 21 February 2020 at Tikkana Village - Kathiraveli. With the financial contribution of Ven. Rideegama Gnaneshwara Thero, a 5000 ltr plastic water tank was installed in the village fulfilling a long-felt requirement of drinking water. Additionally, dry ration packs each worth of Rs.7000, school items, stationeries and many other essential goods were distributed among 35 families in the village with the supervision of Commander 233 Brigade Colonel Rajitha Elvitigala.
