A series of programme were organized from 12 to 17 March 2023 to celebrate the 13th anniversary of the 221 Infantry Brigade. Anniversary celebrations were held giving prominence to religious functions and celebration activities with the guidance of Brigadier Sujeewa Rathnayake the Brigade Commander of the 221 Infantry Brigade.
Boodi Pooja programme was held on 15 March at the temple of Brigade Headquarters and the alms giving programme was held on 15 March at the Gookanna Raja Maha Viharaya with the participation of 07 monks. Moreover Conducted Pooja ceremonies at the Koneshwaram Kovila and Stone Church Trincomalee.
The Anniversary celebrations held on Thursday (March 16) with a colorful Guard Turnout accorded to Brigadier Sujeewa Rathnayake the Brigade Commander of the 221 Infantry Brigade. On the day held the All Rank lunch and finally, 17 March held the musical show at the Brigade premises.
The Brigade Commander, Civil Affairs Officer and all Officers of the Brigade and all other ranks participated in the programmes held for the 13th Anniversary of the Brigade.
