COMMANDER SIGNAL BRIGADE MADE HIS FIRST VISIT TO 2 SIGNAL CORPS

After assuming his new office, the 25th Brigade Commander Signal Brigade Colonel HDJP Weerathunga made his first official visit to 2 (Volunteer) Regiment Sri Lanka Signal Corps (SLSC) on Tuesday (April 04). He was warmly welcomed by the Commanding Officer 2 (V) SLSC and accorded a guard turnout at the entrance as a formal military tradition. Further, in order to mark his inaugural visit as the Brigade Commander Signal Brigade. He planted a mango sapling at the camp premises before he posed for a photograph with all officers and appointment holders in the 2 (V) SLSC. Subsequently, he addressed the troops and elaborated on the requirement of having multidimensional training to upgrade the knowledge and multi skills to meet the challenges of signalers in contemporary and future battle environments. Further, he stressed upon the military and personal discipline of the soldiers and its impact on their personal life, Corps of Signals and the Army. Finally, he advised on correct use of social media, present financial crisis, situational awareness and remedial actions. Afterwards, he had a tea with the all ranks and shared his thought in visitor's book for mark his visit. Senior officers, signal officers in the area were present at the occasion.
