THE CHIEF SIGNAL OFFICER AND THE COLONEL COMMANDANT OF SRI LANKA SIGNAL CORPS VISITED 2 (V) REGIMENT SRI LANKA SIGNAL CORPS

The Chief Signal Officer and the Colonel Commandant of Sri Lanka Signal Corps, Major General H M L D Herath RSP USP psc visited 2 (Volunteer) Regiment Sri Lanka Signal Corps at Dalukana on 28 January 2023. This was his first official visit to the 2 (Volunteer) Regiment after assuming duties as the Chief Signal Officer & the Colonel Commandant of Sri Lanka Signals Corps.

Major K V A Kodikara psc, the Commanding Officer warmly welcomed Major General Lalith Herath on arrival and subsequently a ceremonial guard turnout was presented at the entrance in accordance with military formalities. He then planted a mango sapling to mark his visit followed by a group photograph.

During the troop address, The Colonel Commandant highlighted as to how to harness professionalism whilst preserving highest standard of discipline during their career and the importance of being the best battalion of the corps and also about the innovations which can be utilized to overcome difficulties when performing duties as a corps.

Following the address, the Commanding Officer presented a memento to mark the visit and there after the chief guest attended an all ranks tea and spent time with officers and other ranks. Subsequently, he visited the camp premises.

The Commanding Officer conducted a comprehensive briefing on the status of Communication, ICT and admin matters of 2 (V) SLSC.

Prior to the conclusion of the programme, the Colonel Commandant shared his views with officers during the lunch at Officers’ Mess and left compliments in the Visitors’ Book.
