Security Force Headquarters - East organized an Exhibition to showcase the exclusive innovative talents of the East-based soldiers on Friday (09) at the auditorium, Pulathisi National College of Education in Polonnaruwa. On a concept of Lieutenant General Mahesh Senanayake - the Commander of the Army and with the guidance of Major General Aruna Jayasekera - the Commander Security Forces (East), the exhibition was launched with the objective of encouraging soldiers for new innovations.

The annual Dakshina Dalada Perehara of Somawathi Rajamaha Viharaya was held in a grand scale at the sacred ground of Somawathiya yesterday (16) the Esala Full Moon Poya Day amidst thousands of devotees. This historical procession is held annually to pay homage to the Sacred Tooth Relic of Lord Buddha, which is enshrined at the Sacred Somawathiya Stupa. The procession consisted of many traditional local dances such as fire-dances, whip-dances, Kandyan dances and various other cultural dances, in addition to the elephants adorned with lavish garments.

Troops of 224 Brigade organized a two day seminar at Pearl Grand Hall Muthur on 11 and 12 July with the aim of assisting the students who are expected to appear in the forthcoming G C E (A/L) exam 2019.
