Under the guidance of General Officer Commanding 22 Infantry Division Major General Channa Weerasuriya and with the coordination of the Commander 221 Brigade, Brigadier WP Kariyawasam, 2 (V) GR and 17 SLNG Battalions organized a Christmas entertaining programme and offered a lunch for the children accommodated at “Geni Orphanage” Trincomalee on 22 Dec 2020. During the programme, valuable gift items were distributed among the children. Further, Reverent Fathers and Sisters took part in the event.

Defence Advisor to the Indian High Commission of Sri Lanka Captain Vikas Sood paid a courtesy call on General Officer Commanding 22 Infantry Division Major General C D Weerasuriya RWP RSP ndu on 17 October 2020 at the 22 Infantry Division Headquarters. Captain Vikas Sood was warmly welcomed by the GOC on arrival at the Headquarters premises.
