In order to alleviate hardships faced by civilians due to current pandemic situation, a distribution of dry rations and essential items was conducted among the needy families living in Galkanda area on 26 January 2022 with the sponsorship of a philanthropist for the stock. The program was conducted under the guidance of the Commander, Security Force East Major General Lal Chandrasiri and the General Officer Commanding 23 Infantry Division Major General Nalin Koswatte.
The donation programme was coordinated with the assistance of the 9th Field Regiment of Sri Lanka Artillery under the direct supervision of the Commander 233 Brigade, Colonel Wasantha Hewage.
Senior Military Officers, Officers, Troops and the civilians in the area attended the event.
