    The 7th contingent of the Sri Lanka Army Medical Corps (SLAMC), bound for United Nations Peace-Keeping Mission in South Sudan’s Level-2 Hospital (UNMISS) on the eve of their departure presented a ceremonial salute to Lieutenant General Shavendra Silva, Chief of Defence Staff, Commander of the Army and Head, National Operations Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO) at the SLAMC Regimental Headquarters ground at Werahera this morning (13).

    The Sri Lankan Force Protection Company (SLFP-Coy) serving the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL), together with UN peace-keepers from France, Italy, Spain, Finland, Ireland, Germany, Slovenia, Ghana, South Korea, Malaysia, Nepal, India, Indonesia, Serbia, Brazil, Bangladesh, China, Poland, and Lebanese Armed Forces recently participated in a five-day long direct live firing Exercise, ‘Ex-Steel Storm - 2020’.

  • MINUSMA FORCE COMMANDER COMPLIMENTS ON ROLE OF SRI LANKAN CONVOY

    Force Commander in Mali United Nations Multidimensional Integrated Stabilization Mission in Mali (MINUSMA), Lieutenant General Dennis Gyllensporre called at the Sri Lankan Combat Convoy Company on 19 September 2020, deployed in landlocked Mali in West Africa and received an update on the role, being performed by the Sri Lankan Combat Convoy Company.

  • ARMY-PRODUCED NEW UNIBUFFELS LAND IN MALI & UNDERGO ACCLIMATIZATION TRIALS

    The Army's Sri Lanka Electrical and Mechanical Engineer (SLEME) troops-produced 9 modernized Unibuffels (improved version of Unicorns), one new recovery vehicle and 3 containers sent to Mali on United Nations (UN) Multidimensional Integrated Stabilization Mission in Mali (MINUSMA) are currently undergoing trials of acclimatization in the trouble-torn tough terrains in Mali after shipping agents unloaded them and took them to the MINUSMA HQ, a few days ago.

    Force Commander in Mali (MINUSMA), Lieutenant General Dennis Gyllensporre paid a visit to the Sri Lankan Combat Convoy Company (LKACCC) deployed in Republic of Mali on 19 September 2020 and received an update on the role performed by the LKACCC.

  • CHIEF OF STAFF - MINUSMA MAKES A FORMAL VISIT TO SRI LANKA ARMY COMBAT CONVOY COMPANY

    A delegation headed by the Mission Chief of Staff - MINUSMA in Mali and the Chief Operation and Resource Management made an official visit to Sri Lanka Army Combat Convoy Company (LKACCC) on 13 August 2020. The aim of the visit was to witness the COVID -19 preventive measures adopted by LKACCC. After a brief camp visit the delegation appreciated the standard maintained by the LKACCC.
