The Directorate of Overseas Operations is responsible for deploying troops of Sri Lankan Army as per the requirement of overseas operations and United Nations Peacekeeping Missions. Further; it is responsible for implementation of the Commander’s decisions and directions and enhancement of the professionalism of the troops selected for overseas employment.
Sri Lankan Army to contribute maximum possible means of peacekeepers and asset enlightening the professionalism, in providing qualitative service in large extend, by achieving the vision mission and goals of the UNO to gain world peace eliminating all form of violations and atrocities.
Ensuring proper readiness of troops and equipment, giving precedence to core values of UN Charter in view to meticulous approach of executing the challengeable specialized tasks in peacekeeping duties as an essential country with national strategic objective to be compatible with the global peace operations.
