The Directorate of Overseas Operations is responsible for deploying troops of Sri Lankan Army as per the requirement of overseas operations and United Nations Peacekeeping Missions. Further; it is responsible for implementation of the Commander’s decisions and directions and enhancement of the professionalism of the troops selected for overseas employment.
The Sri Lankan Army to become a leading troop contributing Army for the world peace, thusempowering the motherland in global economic, diplomatic and political domains.
To employ troops of the Sri Lanka Army in overseas operations, essentially in UN peacekeeping missions, with fully situational awareness, properly equipped and with realistic training imparted in order to undertake any type of overseas missions with competence and confidence.
